Job summary

Cirrus Logic in Austin, TX is offering an embedded software test internship for Spring/Summer/Fall 2027. You will work with experienced engineers to validate products delivered to world-class customers and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

The internship lasts 12–16 weeks, follows a full-time schedule, and may require in‑office presence up to several days a week depending on business needs. You must be within commutable distance to the location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
• Knowledge of embedded systems and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
• Knowledge of scripting or programming languages such as (Python/shell, C, C++, etc.)
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Understanding of MCU and DSP cores/processors
• Understanding of software testing and test automation principles
• Familiar with defect management practices
• Familiar with SDLC
• Familiar with Jira, svn/git, and Continuous Integration systems (e.g., Jenkins)

Responsibilities

• Create and execute on test plans during pre-silicon and post-silicon phases of the product
• Contribute to the design, creation, and enhancement of the test framework, including developing modules to enable more effective validation techniques
• Find issues and triage/debug them with team members in the software organization
• Identify, report, and handle defects in a defect tracking system
• Present results to product owners, internal customers to assist in resolving defects
• Analyze test result data to identify patterns, extract insights, and support meaningful conclusions that improve product quality
