Job summary

MSA Safety is hiring a Software Test Engineer in Verification and Validation. You will work with developers and quality engineers to ensure products meet high standards while building automation for embedded software testing.

You will leverage Python scripting and test automation across unit, integration, regression, and system testing in a global team. The role includes developing test harnesses, collaborating on code reviews, and contributing to test metrics and process improvements.

Qualifications

BS degree in software/CS/CE or related field from ABET-accredited program.
Experience in embedded product development and software quality/testing.
Proficient in Python scripting for test automation.
Experience creating test cases, harnesses, and scripts; automated testing in embedded environments.
Familiarity with testing methodologies: unit, integration, regression, system, performance.
Strong use of version control and collaboration tools (Git, Jira, Confluence).
Experience with CI tools (Bamboo, Jenkins, Travis).
Strong communication and teamwork in a global context.

Responsibilities

Develop, launch, and support life-saving products, ensuring quality requirements are met.
Evaluate requirements, architecture, and development process compliance; address mitigation activities.
Capture and satisfy testability and performance requirements for new products.
Participate in code reviews and develop automation tools for embedded testing.
Create test suites and scripts; maintain test automation systems and tools.
Contribute to automated and manual testing; identify and track software defects.
