Embedded Software Engineers (Associate/Experienced/Senior) (Berkeley)

The Boeing Company is currently hiring for Embedded Software Engineers (Associate/Experienced/Senior) to join the Phantom Works Mission Systems Software team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will support the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

You will work in a collaborative team environment helping to develop real-time software solutions, utilize simulations and emulations, and develop software processes to meet customer capabilities. Responsibilities include developing software and tests throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle (requirements, architecture, implementation, verification). The role involves developing software in a CI/CD DevSecOps pipeline using agile methodologies focused on code quality, security, and automation.

Position Responsibilities:
  1. Supports the design, development, testing, debugging, and maintenance of embedded software that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards.
  2. Assists with reviewing, analyzing, and translating customer requirements into software designs for embedded devices and systems.
  3. Builds and writes code for embedded systems software to run on specific hardware.
  4. Contributes to integrating embedded software with hardware components.
  5. Supports analysis, monitoring, and improving the efficiency and stability of embedded systems.
  6. Participates in testing and debugging software for embedded devices and systems.
  7. Supports the implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulatory changes.
  8. Tracks and evaluates software team performance to ensure compliance with project plans and standards.
  9. Assists with embedded software project management functions.
  10. Develops and implements automated testing frameworks and scripts.
  11. Performs unit, integration, and system testing with a focus on automation.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with C++ and/or Linux OS.
  • 2+ years of experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 3+ or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience or familiarity with DevOps & DevSecOps pipelines, debugging memory or timing issues, and tools like Docker, Kubernetes, CMake, Git, Jira, SonarQube, etc.
Education/Experience Levels:

Associate (Level 2): Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years’ experience or Master’s degree with relevant experience.

Experienced (Level 3): Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience or equivalent.

Senior (Level 4): Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years’ experience or equivalent.

Additional Information:

This role requires U.S. citizenship, the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, and compliance with export control regulations. It is a first-shift position with relocation options available based on eligibility. Boeing is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
