Ag Leader is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for AMES, IA. You will join a cross-functional team building embedded and Linux-based systems for real products used by farmers. You will gain hands-on ownership, mentorship, and feedback as you contribute across multiple languages and technologies during sprints.

The internship emphasizes learning by doing, participating in design, implementation, and testing with real customer impact, and growing skills through code reviews and agile practices.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Some coursework or project experience in C++.
• Comfort with Linux environment or eagerness to learn.
• Curiosity, collaboration, and a willingness to ask questions and give/receive feedback.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with your team to design, build, and test solutions that solve real customer problems.
• Lead the design, implementation, and testing of innovative software solutions that exceed customer needs.
• Deliver high-quality, working code within each sprint and demonstrate product features to stakeholders and company-wide audiences.
• Champion continuous improvement, agile practices, and change initiatives by identifying and resolving challenges using root cause analysis.
• Take part in retrospectives and code reviews as a two-way conversation to grow.
