Job summary

Doosan Bobcat is recruiting for an Embedded Software Engineer Student Experience—Summer 2027 in Bismarck, ND. You will work on embedded software, scripts, and internal tools using C/C++, C#, Python, Qt, and Matlab/Simulink as part of a structured student program.

The role offers Co-op (8 months, full-time) or Internship (semester-long, part-time with potential extension), spanning multiple functions across the company.

Qualifications

• Sophomore, Junior or Senior standing in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software, scripts and internal utilities using C/C++, C#, Python, Qt and/or Matlab/Simulink.
• Create and execute unit, hardware and on-machine tests to ensure software quality and functionality.
• Participate in code reviews, manage requirements and utilize project tracking systems.
• Operate equipment, construct electrical harnesses, log and analyze test data.

Role & Responsibility

Job Requirement

• Sophomore, Junior, Senior standing in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity Engineering, or equivalent


• 3.0 or higher GPA preferred


• Be able to commit full‑time to Bobcat for the entire term of the co‑op (8 months) or internship (4‑months)


• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills


• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)


• Communication and collaboration skills


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

The salary range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00 per hour depending on experience and other factors.
