Job summary

CACI is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer - Photonics in Florham Park, NJ for a full-time, onsite role focused on developing and testing embedded software for optoelectronic systems.

You will design, document and implement software for controlling these systems, perform unit tests, and collaborate with engineers from other disciplines. Travel up to 10% is possible, and a strong background in C/C++, RTOS, and ARM is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is required.
• Strong knowledge of C/C++ for embedded platforms and experience with RTOS.
• Experience with embedded testing and unit tests.
• Familiarity with hardware interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, USB) and Ethernet.
• Experience with source control and defect tracking (Git, Jira).

The Opportunity

This is a software development role in a dynamic engineering organization, supporting the development and testing of optoelectronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Directly contribute to the design, documentation and implementation of embedded software for controlling optoelectronic systems.
• Contribute to the testing of such systems by interacting with engineers of other disciplines and building unit test software.
• This position is 100% onsite every day in Florham Park, NJ.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of C/C++ and its application to embedded computing platforms.
• Understanding of both bare-metal and RTOS environments.
• Familiarity with Python.
• Knowledge of ARM processors.
• Familiarity with other processor architectures.
• Understanding of common peripheral interfaces/devices (SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, ADCs, DACs, PWM, Timers, USB) at the hardware level.
• Experience with network protocols.
• Experience in use of source code control systems (e.g. Git) and defect tracking systems (e.g. Jira).
• Understanding of software development/test methodologies and best practices.
• Some ability to use common lab test equipment (DMM, oscilloscope, signal generator, etc.)
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Desired

• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux application programming.
• Active security clearance.
• Aerospace/defense contracting experience.
• Experience with cyber-assurance and cyber-security.
• Experienced with Xilinx software tools.
• Experienced with basic optics.

The proposed salary range for this position is: $79,400 - $162,700
