Job summary

AtriCure in Minnesota designs software for cardiac surgery devices. This Software Engineer will develop and test software for capital equipment and embedded devices used by surgeons, collaborating with management, project teams and QA to deliver high‑quality products with patient impact.

The role spans SDLC activities, from design and verification to risk assessment and documentation, with opportunities to lead projects and contribute to IP generation.

Qualifications

• BS in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in software development.
• Experience writing in C/C++ or similar language.
• Knowledge of Design Controls and CyberSecurity.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.
• Experience with software development methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop software specifications including integration of applicable standards/regulations.
• Assist in design, integration, and testing of capital equipment and devices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet deadlines.
• Perform design, testing, verification and validation of software components.
• Implement and test advanced software security techniques.
• Provide SDLC support and deliver high-quality products.
• Generate and document intellectual property.
