Job summary

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Orlando, FL is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain embedded and desktop software for multi-core systems.

You will work with C++, Linux/Windows, and OS concepts, contribute to complex algorithms, and ensure secure, high-integrity software for defense applications, with eligibility for DoD clearance.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years post-grad software experience or pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Demonstrated software development experience in C++.
• Experience with operating systems concepts and exposure to Linux/Windows/Unix/VxWorks.
• Ability to obtain DoD clearance and US citizenship.

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer in Orlando, FL. In this role, you will develop and maintain embedded software applications and/or desktop applications. Tasks will involve requirements, design, code, testing, and integrating software for an embedded multi-core system as well as desktop computer applications for emulation of sensors and countermeasures. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of object-oriented C++ concepts and experience with Linux OS.

Candidates filling this position will need US citizenship and will need a clearance at the level specified in “Clearance Level” or will need the ability to get a clearance if not specified. In addition to meeting security clearance requirements, the candidate may need to be approved to work Special Access Program (SAP) prior to the start of employment.

What You Will Be Doing

• Develop Embedded Software to include drivers, state machines, multi-threaded applications, etc.
• Integrate complex algorithms into C++ applications
• Design, develop, document, test, and debug software for both logical and mathematical solutions as well as software for controlling tactical hardware
• Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, while referencing Artificial Intelligence in a responsible manner in accordance with Lockheed, contractual, and governmental policies to accelerate documentation, development, and functional tests.
• Contribute to detailed design architectures, ensuring architecture and source code remain in alignment.

Basic Qualifications

• Must have between (0-2) years of post-grad relevant work experience OR must be pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related software discipline
• Demonstrated software development experience in C++.
• Experience working Operating systems / familiarity with OS concepts. This may include: Linux, Windows, Unix, VxWorks, Operating Systems Coursework, etc.
• Ability to obtain DoD Clearance.
• Must be US Citizen.

Desired Skills

• Hardware experience (Arduino, STMxx, Xilinx, any FPGA Programmable Software.
• Strong understanding of C++ Object Oriented design and inheritance concepts.
• Understanding of basic multi-threading concepts.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $81100.00 - $150500.00
