Job summary

SOMERSET STAFFING is seeking a Jr Software Engineer in Oak Brook, IL to design, develop, and test software for embedded systems. You will write clean C++14/17 code, work with Linux, and collaborate with managers, designers, and QA engineers to ensure solutions meet business needs.

Required: 1–2 years of embedded software experience, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and familiarity with version control and debugging tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 1-2 years of experience developing software for embedded systems.
• C++14/17 experience with knowledge of threading.
• Proficiency with the Linux Operating System.
• Experience with software development tools, version control systems, and debugging environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle processes and engineering best practices.

Experience Required: Jr Software Engineer

Must have C++ (14 / 17) experience with knowledge of threading
