Job summary

Columbus McKinnon is seeking a Software Engineer to design and develop embedded software for new and existing products. You will create functional designs, plan work, and apply new methods to solve engineering problems while upholding quality and cost targets.

You will collaborate with customers to meet specifications, design software structures and control algorithms, and prepare proposals for new products. Occasional travel to sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or CS or related experience.
• 2 years’ embedded software programming experience.
• 2 years’ experience with Industrial Controls or Material Handling is preferred.
• Strong technical skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Modify existing software for new and existing applications.
• Design software structures and control algorithms for products and systems.
• Prepare proposals for new products for customer-specific applications.
• Provide technical guidance to meet customer requirements.
• Travel to customer sites for start-up of new products (rare).
• Address technical inquiries and support customers' product use.
