Job summary

Rivian is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop cutting-edge charging products. You will be proficient in Modern C++, work on embedded Linux, write efficient code, create robust unit tests, and contribute to embedded software projects in a collaborative environment where you can learn and grow.

You will join Rivian's charging and energy initiatives in California, with locations in Torrance or Irvine.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of industry experience developing C/C++ applications on embedded Linux.
• Experience with build tools such as Make and CMake.
• Experience with unit test frameworks such as Google Test.
• Strong scripting and automation using Bash or Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain embedded Linux application software for residential and commercial charging products.
• Develop unit tests and SIL tests to ensure the highest code quality.
• Develop and support software tools used for development and testing.
• Participate in code reviews providing technical feedback to drive quality design.
• Support CI/CD system software to facilitate building, testing and distribution of production-level software.

• Experience with Yocto-based build systems for embedded devices.
• Experience with electric vehicle charging protocols such as SAE J1772, DIN SPEC 70121, and ISO 15118.
• Experience with Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP)

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range California-Based Applicants: $107,000-$133,700 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment.
