Honeywell Aerospace in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our avionics software team. You will contribute to design, development, and implementation of software solutions that meet customer needs and ensure reliability in safety critical systems.

The role requires a STEM degree, at least 2 years of software development experience, and strong Embedded C++. You will work on Linux-based ports, DO-178B processes, and collaborate across functions in a hybrid work environment.

Job Description

As a Software Engineer II here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will be an integral part of our software development team, contributing to the design, development, and implementation of innovative software solutions that meet customer needs and drive business success.

In this role, you will impact the development of cutting-edge software applications, enhance the functionality and performance of our products while ensuring high quality and reliability.

You will work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule. NO RELOCATION OFFERED.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment in compliance with DO-178B guidelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Contribute to the development of software documentation and user manuals.
• Implement services on the Linux platform to port the application.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in software development (including internships and project work).
• Strong understanding of programming languages such as Embedded C++.
• Experience with software development tools and version control systems.
• Familiarity with software development methodologies.
• Understanding of the Operating System concepts.
• Familiarity with the build and debug tool chains.
• Willingness to solve the real time challenges pertaining to concurrent execution of processes in a multicore environment.

• Experience in developing User Interface software, Display or Electronic Flight Instrumentation System (EFIS) Software solution for Safety critical Real Time Embedded products.
• Experience in developing applications for embedded systems for Aero products
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in designing software for multicore environment
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Passion for technology and continuous learning.
