Mountain Top Talent LLC is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to support DoD unmanned systems. The role requires a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

The job supports full lifecycle development, testing, and cross-domain security, with remote options and travel to customer sites. The candidate will work across software/hardware integration, design reviews, and leveraging AI tools to accelerate learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, CE, Software Engineering or related field
• 3+ years of embedded software development
• Strong interest in defense systems, aviation, unmanned systems, or ground vehicle technologies
• Experience with C++, C, Java, Kotlin
• US Citizen and eligible to obtain a DoD security clearance
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and written/verbal communication skills

Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer

Location: [Remote] / Preferred Location Dallas, TX, Huntsville, AL or Grand Rapids, MI

Clearance Required: Must be a U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Job Type: Full-time

Travel: Travel 10% of the time to customer sites and Jovian HQ.

Position Summary:

We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting the development of software applications, tools and frameworks supporting unmanned systems for Department of Defense (DoD) programs. The ideal candidate brings expertise in embedded software development, software / hardware integration, and activities related to full lifecycle of products and systems. The candidate must be comfortable operating in a secure, regulated, and cross-domain environment.

Responsibilities:

• Follow the full lifecycle software development process.


• Develop functional, interface and technical requirements and use cases.


• Perform software verification by developing automated testing procedures, solutions and frameworks.


• Perform user acceptance testing.


• Participate in design and code reviews.


• Look for security vulnerabilities in coding.


• Collaborate with team members, project leads and customers.


• Use AI and other tools to accelerate learning and create deliverables.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field.


• 3+ years of embedded software development.


• Strong interest in development of embedded software applications.


• Strong interest in defense systems, aviation, unmanned systems, or ground vehicle technologies.


• Basic understanding of software engineering principles and the software development lifecycle.


• Experience with one or more languages: C++, C, Java, Kotlin.


• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and written/verbal communication skills.


• Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with UML or SysML.


• Experience with virtual and cloud computing environments (AWS, Azure, Docker, etc.).


• Experience with software IDEs (Visual Studio, Eclipse) and git.


• Experience with Android application development.
