Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Embedded Software Test Engineer who enjoys digging into source code, building automated test frameworks, and improving software quality through code-level testing and verification.

This role tests and troubleshoots embedded software internals, not just finished products, and collaborates with developers to validate code changes across the full product lifecycle.

This is not a traditional QA role. We're specifically seeking engineers who can test and troubleshoot embedded software internals, not just validate finished products.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Develop and maintain automated unit tests for embedded software
• Create and expand automated integration test environments
• Perform white-box testing by analyzing source code, software architecture, and internal logic
• Troubleshoot complex software issues and identify root causes
• Collaborate with developers to recommend and validate code changes
• Execute static analysis activities and support code quality initiatives
• Improve and automate test frameworks, tooling, and verification processes
• Support embedded software development throughout the full product lifecycle

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Experience developing or maintaining automated unit tests
• Experience with automated integration testing
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Experience working in embedded software or product-development environments
• Proven troubleshooting and debugging skills

• Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or Software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing
• Automotive, aerospace, industrial controls, medical device, robotics, or other embedded product-development experience
• EST Hours and EST candidates highly preferred
