Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for a fully remote role in the United States. The candidate will design, develop, and optimize firmware for connected devices and industrial systems, with emphasis on reliability, security, and hardware integration.

You should bring 6+ years of embedded C/C++ experience, RTOS proficiency, and a proven track record of driver development and hardware-software collaboration.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of embedded C/C++ experience with real-time embedded systems.
• Strong RTOS experience (FreeRTOS, VxWorks, ThreadX, Zephyr, or Embedded Linux).
• Experience developing low-level drivers and HAL/BSP.
• Experience with hardware-software integration and debugging with JTAG and scopes.
• Knowledge of security, firmware updates, and secure boot is a plus.
• Able to work with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software and firmware for microcontroller-based systems.
• Develop low-level drivers, BSP, bootloaders, and HAL layers.
• Build real-time applications on RTOS platforms and Embedded Linux.
• Support interfaces like UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, Ethernet, BLE, MQTT.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers during bring-up and validation.
• Optimize software for CPU, memory, power, and boot time.
• Implement secure firmware update mechanisms and secure boot features.
• Develop software for sensors, actuators, wireless modules, and peripherals.
• Debug hardware-software issues with test equipment and analyzers.
• Write unit/integration tests and automation scripts; participate in design reviews.
• Support production deployments, field diagnostics, and firmware maintenance.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimize firmware and embedded software for next-generation connected devices, industrial automation systems, automotive platforms, medical devices, and IoT products. This role focuses on developing high-performance, real-time embedded applications that interact directly with hardware components while ensuring reliability, security, and compliance with industry standards. You will collaborate closely with hardware engineers, systems architects, electrical engineers, QA teams, and product managers to build embedded software solutions supporting mission-critical products deployed across enterprise and industrial environments. The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in embedded C/C++, RTOS development, device drivers, communication protocols, and hardware-software integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software and firmware for microcontroller and microprocessor-based systems.
• Develop low-level device drivers, Board Support Packages (BSP), bootloaders, and hardware abstraction layers (HAL).
• Build real-time applications using RTOS platforms including FreeRTOS, VxWorks, ThreadX, Zephyr, or Embedded Linux.
• Develop firmware supporting communication interfaces including UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, Ethernet, BLE, and MQTT.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers during board bring-up, hardware validation, and system integration activities.
• Optimize embedded applications for CPU utilization, memory footprint, power consumption, and boot time.
• Implement secure firmware update mechanisms, secure boot, encryption, and hardware-based security features.
• Develop software supporting sensors, actuators, wireless modules, and peripheral devices.
• Debug hardware-software integration issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG debuggers, and protocol analyzers.
• Write unit tests, integration tests, and automated validation scripts to ensure firmware quality.
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, technical design discussions, and Agile development activities.
• Support production deployments, field diagnostics, root cause analysis, and firmware maintenance.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you will contribute to firmware architecture, embedded software development, hardware integration, system validation, performance optimization, and long-term product reliability for enterprise-grade embedded solutions.
