Job summary

MSA Safety is seeking an embedded systems engineer to design and implement real-time software in C/C++. You will own architecture, guide the team, and translate customer needs into robust technical solutions for safety-critical products.

Two career levels are available: Staff III with 4+ years or Senior with 6+ years, with MS potentially substituting for up to 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

• BSCE, BSEE or relevant technical discipline, ABET preferred.
• Experience at two career levels: Staff III (4+ yrs) or Senior (6+ yrs); MS may substitute for up to 1 year.

Responsibilities

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Strong proficiency in real-time embedded system and software design/implementation in C/C++
• Skilled in distilling deeply technical information down to its essence and packaging to gain buy-in for project or design direction (written and verbal)

Preferred:

• Proficiency in leading hardware bring-up efforts and diagnosing issues at the board, silicon, and driver layers
• Experience with wireless communications (BLE, Cellular, etc.)
• Skills with rapid prototyping, software design patterns, CMake, CI, various software development tools

Education and Experience Required:

• BSCE, BSEE or relevant technical discipline, preferably from an ABET or similarly accredited program
• This position is available at two different career levels based upon experience and education:
• Staff III: 4 years of relevant industry experience minimum
• Senior: 6 years of relevant industry experience minimum
• MS degree may be substituted for up to 1 year of relevant experience
