Job summary

Ultra Maritime in Rochester, NY, is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to lead and support development for airborne receivers, both new and legacy code. The role requires strong embedded Linux experience and DSP knowledge, with opportunities to collaborate with program management and customer teams.

The position includes travel to test facilities and the potential to obtain a US government security clearance. Candidates should be U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar degree.
• 6+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Experience with embedded Linux and DSP concepts.
• Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance (US citizen).

Responsibilities

• Provide embedded software development support to current and existing airborne receivers.
• Support new development and maintenance of legacy code.
• Define requirements, design software, write code, test, and document efforts.
• Work closely with Program Management, other project team members, and customer representatives.
• Participate in bi-weekly software meetings.
• Occasional travel to offsite government and non-government test facilities.
• Other duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide embedded software development support to current and existing airborne receivers.
• Support new development and maintenance of legacy code.
• Responsible for requirements definition, designing software, writing code, testing new and legacy code, and documenting these efforts.
• Work closely with Program Management, other project team members, and customer representatives.
• Participate in bi-weekly software meetings.
• Occasional travel to offsite government and non-government test facilities.
• Other duties as required.

Required Skills

• Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar degree.
• 6+ years of experience in Software and Embedded software development and engineering for complex organizations
• Excellent hardware/software troubleshooting skills
• High level of initiative with ability to self-manage
• Embedded Linux experience
• Experience with digital signal processing concepts, such as: A/D, D/A, filters
• Experience with basic test equipment: Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Logic Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers
• Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens.

Expected Compensation

The expected compensation range for this role is

$79,560.00 - $99,424.00.

Ultra Maritime considers multiple factors when determining final compensation, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, a candidate’s relevant experience and education, certifications and training, as well as current business and market conditions.
