Job summary

Flex-N-Gate in Allen Park, MI, seeks an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to translate customer requirements into robust ECU software for automotive applications.

Lead the design, development, and integration of real-time embedded software, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure software quality meets ASPICE and ISO 26262 standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• At least 5 years of real-time embedded software experience in safety-critical automotive applications.
• Proficient in C, C++, and assembly; scripting languages.
• Knowledge of automotive electrical systems and protocols (CAN/LIN/SPI/I2C).
• Familiar with ASPICE and automotive safety standards (ISO 26262/21448/21434).
• Experience with DC and stepper motor control is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and integration of embedded software for automotive ECUs.
• Translate customer specifications into software requirements and system architecture.
• Execute the product development process to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to defined quality standards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with customers, program managers, and engineering teams to define requirements.
• Analyze system requirements, design software architecture, implement code, and verify real-time embedded systems.
• Develop and support software validation strategies, including manufacturing, EMC, and environmental testing.
• Drive continuous improvement of software tools, methodologies, and development processes to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of software-related issues.
