Job summary

Emerson in Marshalltown, IA is offering a full-time co-op position for students currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program. You will engage with the firmware team to interpret requirements, design, document, and implement validations, and collaborate across project teams to deliver features that are implemented, tested, and documented.

Job description

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Engage firmware team to interpret upstream requirements to design, document, and implement supporting validations
  • Perform project and product documentation in accordance with departmental and company procedures and standards
  • Collaborate with other members of the project team to deliver features that are implemented, tested, and documented
  • Design, assemble, and maintain test fixtures

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program
  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment
  • Ability to understand basic mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic systems
  • Strong analytical problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Programming experience in C# (Test), C++ (Firmware), or similar object-oriented programming languages
  • Commitment to full-time (40 hours/week) Co-op experiencein Marshalltown, IA.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • Knowledge of common software test methods
  • Familiarity with continuous integration tools (TeamCity, Jenkins)
  • Experience with distributed version control
  • Experience with ARM embedded processor platforms
