Ironstead is seeking an Integrated Staff Engineer to embed in newly acquired machine shops, driving a 9‑month transformation post-close. You will baseline OEE, implement lean fundamentals, and ensure the IronsteadOS platform integrates with existing ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
• 2+ years hands-on experience in a machine shop, manufacturing, or production engineering.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Willingness to travel extensively (60-80%) and embed on-site for extended periods, including some nights/weekends during critical transition windows.
• Experience with ERP/MES systems such as JobBOSS or Made2Manage is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as embedded technical process owner at a newly acquired machine shop during the first 9 months post-close.
• Baseline OEE by performing 4M assessments and surface root causes for quality escapes and schedule slips.
• Lead lean implementation (5S, Kanban, Heijunka) while respecting shop culture and achieving buy-in.
• Drive IronsteadOS integration with ERP systems, including data migration and operator training.
• Own CAD/CAM reviews and DFM improvements for CNC milling/turning with AS9100D/ITAR/NADCAP compliance as applicable.
• Partner with metrology/quality teams on CMM programming, GD&T, and first article inspection.
• Build capex cases for new equipment or process changes tied to shop constraints.
• Identify related-party asset arrangements and diligence findings for the deal team.
• Transfer lessons back to the Ironstead platform team to inform future playbooks.
