RTX's Secure Product Assurance team in Tucson seeks an Embedded Security Software Engineer to tackle Secure Software Solutions in a DoD-focused environment. You'll contribute across the full software lifecycle and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a STEM degree, C/C++, real-time embedded software experience, and scripting skills like Python or Perl. You will design, code, test, and document real-time embedded software while upholding secure coding practices and industry

What You Will Do

Embedded Security Software Engineer - Secure Product Assurance - Tucson Join the Secure Product Assurance/Sensors Space and Air Software team at Raytheon, where we develop cutting‑edge software applications focused on solving our customers' toughest defense challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work on complex technical problems and collaborate to provide innovative solutions.
  • Requires investigation and troubleshooting skills to assess issues and develop resolutions.
  • Work at all phases of the SW development lifecycle, including SW/HW integration, dependent on program phase.
  • Assist in the derivation of system and software requirements, architectural modeling, and technical analysis.
  • Design, code, unit test, integrate, and document real‑time embedded software solutions with a focus on Secure Software Solution implementations.
  • Participate actively in software peer reviews, code inspections, and technical decision‑making alongside multidisciplinary teams, including program leadership and customers.
  • Support program execution to ensure work products meet technical, cost, schedule, and quality baselines.
  • Follow established software development processes and practices to maintain software product integrity.
Qualifications
You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from accredited institution.
  • Degree must be obtained by start date.
  • Experience developing, and testing or debugging software using C, C++, or similar object‑oriented programming language.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl or similar.
  • Real‑time embedded software development experience.
  • Strong hands‑on troubleshooting and problem‑solving experience.
  • Experience developing software in a team‑based development environment with strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
We Prefer
  • Knowledge of Software Development Processes and experience participating in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements, design, implementation, and testing.
  • Experience working with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automated build environments.
  • Familiarity with Scrum/Agile, DevSecOps, Git/GitLab.
  • Familiarity with Linux OS and Kernal development; Linux device drivers.
  • Hands‑on experience developing low‑level device drivers or real‑time embedded operating system (RTOS) applications.
  • Hardware / software integration experience.
  • Interfacing with FPGAs.
  • Inter‑processor communication.
  • X-86 and ARM Architectures.
  • Secure boot concepts.
  • Embedded Software Security experience.
  • Experience designing, implementing, testing, or fielding real‑time security‑oriented solutions on Department of Defense (DoD) programs (embedded experience highly preferred).

Relocation Eligible.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
