Job summary

Amazon Prime Air is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to design, develop, and test embedded features for the Prime Air Drone platform. You will work with hardware teams to enable new computing functionality and address complex performance issues.

The role requires hands-on firmware development in C/C++, strong debugging skills, and a history of contributing to large-scale software architectures. Seattle-based, with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) experience.
• 3+ years of embedded firmware development experience.
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Experience contributing to the architecture and design of new/current systems, or general debugging of hardware.

Prime Air is seeking an experienced experienced Software Development Engineer who combines superb technical, research and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. Experience with firmware development, and debugging issues spanning the hardware/software boundary are critical. Previous experience in developing safety-critical software is also valued. A successful candidate will be comfortable working with a team of top-notch developers and collaborating with our research teams. Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

• 3+ years of embedded firmware development experience

• Experience in embedded development in C/C+Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

• Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems, or experience with general troubleshooting/debugging of hardware

• Experience with board bring-up and debugging hardware through the use of logic analyzers, oscilloscopes etc.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
