Job summary

L3Harris Technologies seeks an experienced Embedded Test Engineer to design, verify, and integrate automated RF test systems and subsystems in San Diego. You will develop embedded hardware/software test solutions, perform RF measurements, and troubleshoot hardware issues in cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes Linux-based embedded design, FPGA/CPLD work, LabVIEW and TestStand automation, and producing documented test plans and reports for production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field with 4+ years of experience, or graduate degree with 2+ years.

Responsibilities

• Design automated test systems for production testing with multi-unit capabilities and fault detection.
• Develop and program embedded systems involving Linux, FPGAs, and CPLDs.
• Develop automated test solutions using LabVIEW, TestStand, Python and C++.
• Create test plans, procedures, and reports for components, subsystems, and full assemblies.
• Set up RF test equipment including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, VNA and power meters.
• Troubleshoot RF performance issues at board, module, and system levels.
• Support design verification and validation testing for transmitters, receivers, encryptors/decryptors, and amplifiers.
• Analyze test data and provide clear conclusions to design teams and leadership.
• Collaborate with RF design, systems, manufacturing, quality, and production teams to resolve issues.
• Create and maintain test documentation, calibration requirements, and configuration-controlled records.
• Assist in transitioning test methods from development to manufacturing.
