Job summary

Ambiq seeks a Senior Staff Software Engineer, Power Management in Austin to lead the SDK power management software architecture and optimization for low-power Edge AI MCUs. You will collaborate with SoC hardware power architects, marketing, and validation to set platform requirements, drive design reviews, and ensure robust, production-quality software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• 10+ years of embedded software development for ARM Cortex-M with RTOS.
• Expert C/C++ with low-level firmware, HALs, and startup code.
• Strong SoC architecture knowledge and power management expertise.
• Experience profiling power consumption and optimizing system performance.
• Hands-on with debugging tools (JTAG/SWD, scopes, analyzers) and profiling tools.
• Experience with Git-based workflows, code reviews, and CI/CD.
• Excellent problem-solving and cross-functional leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Define software requirements and allocations from SoC hardware inputs and product teams.
• Design, develop, and optimize the power management SDK software and profiling.
• Own SoC software architecture, performance, and power optimization.
• Collaborate with marketing, validation, and IP vendors to refine the platform.
• Lead design reviews, code reviews, and establish software development best practices.
• Diagnose complex system-level issues across hardware and software boundaries.
• Develop power management features for low-power modes, clock mgmt, and memory retention.
