Job summary

Ciena, a global leader in high-speed connectivity, invites you to join as a WaveLogic Software Intern in Atlanta, GA. You’ll gain hands-on experience contributing to next-generation optical networking technologies, working with experienced teams to develop, validate, and improve software for service provider networks.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering, have C/C++ experience, and understand embedded systems and Linux/RTOS concepts.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in a bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
• Experience with C and C++ programming.
• Knowledge of embedded systems, device drivers, Linux/RTOS.
• Strong verbal and technical writing skills.
• Team collaboration in a cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop understanding of next-generation network solutions using optical transport and switching technologies such as OTN and Ethernet.
• Develop embedded software to design, develop, validate, and document networking features deployed in service provider networks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve embedded software issues by identifying root causes, diagnosing defects, debugging, and delivering fixes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test next-generation modem technologies.
