GCS Recruitment is seeking an experienced Embedded Software / Middleware Engineer to work on connected-device and networking platforms in Dallas. The role requires strong C programming on Linux-based embedded systems, middleware experience, and hands-on networking expertise, including Wi-Fi and IP protocols, with testing and debugging across hardware and software bring-up.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in embedded software development.
• Strong C programming skills.
• Hands-on experience with Embedded Linux.
• Experience with embedded middleware or platform software.
• Solid knowledge of networking and IP protocols.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting Wi‑Fi connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded middleware software.
• Develop and debug production-quality C code on Linux-based embedded platforms.
• Integrate middleware with SoC vendor software and hardware platforms.
• Support system bring-up, software integration, and platform validation.
• Investigate issues involving Linux, middleware, networking, Wi‑Fi, and hardware.
• Analyze network traffic and Wi‑Fi behavior to identify connectivity and performance issues.
• Troubleshoot TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP, and related network protocols.
• Perform detailed debugging and root-cause analysis of complex system issues.
• Work closely with QA, architecture, hardware, and external technology vendors.
• Optimize software performance, reliability, and system stability.
• Develop scripts using Python or Bash when required for testing and troubleshooting.
