Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Portage, MI seeks a Software Test Engineer focused on embedded/Linux testing to join a long-term engagement. You’ll verify embedded software, execute manual and automated tests, and help debug defects across OS and hardware interfaces.

You will develop test scripts in Python, C/C++, or MATLAB, perform OS updates, and collaborate with embedded and OS teams to ensure robust integration testing. This role requires onsite presence four days per week in Portage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of software testing experience in a Linux environment.
• Hands-on in Python, C, or C++ for test scripts.
• Experience with embedded systems testing and verification.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies and debugging.
• Experience executing manual and automated test cases.
• Ability to work onsite in Portage, MI four days per week.

Responsibilities

• Support embedded software verification and validation activities.
• Execute manual and automated test protocols.
• Analyze test results and assist with defect debugging/resolution.
• Perform OS updates and system bring-up activities.
• Collaborate with embedded and OS development teams for integration testing.
• Develop and maintain test scripts using Python, C/C++, or MATLAB.
• Document testing activities, defects, and validation results in Jira/JAMA.
