CesiumAstro, Inc. is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer II with a strong background in embedded Linux and Yocto. You will develop and port embedded Linux applications, drivers, and libraries, while working closely with hardware, FPGA, and systems teams to ensure seamless integration and performance.

The role involves configuring kernel and bootloaders, maintaining the Yocto build system, and participating in design reviews. A degree in CS/EE/CE and 2+ years in embedded software are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/EE/CE or related field.
• 2+ years of professional embedded software experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience developing/debugging software on embedded hardware.
• Understanding of multi‑threaded programming in resource‑constrained environments.
• Familiarity with version control and peer-review workflows.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and port embedded Linux applications, device drivers, and libraries.
• Configure and integrate the Linux kernel and embedded bootloaders (e.g., U-Boot).
• Maintain the Yocto‑based Linux build system in CI/CD.
• Package and deploy software images for diverse embedded hardware platforms.
• Create tailored Linux distributions for specific embedded applications.
• Collaborate across firmware, hardware, and systems teams for integration and performance.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to customer-facing documentation.
