Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer II in Westminster, CO to contribute to embedded Linux systems for space-grade hardware. You will develop and port apps, drivers, and libraries, customize the kernel and bootloaders, and maintain a Yocto-based build in a CI/CD pipeline.

You will collaborate with firmware, hardware, and FPGA teams, participate in design reviews, and help bring up platforms including Xilinx SoCs.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in CS/EE/CE or related field.
• 2+ years of professional embedded software development experience.
• Strong C/C++ for embedded systems and drivers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and port embedded Linux applications, device drivers, and libraries.
• Configure, customize, and integrate the Linux kernel and embedded bootloaders (U-Boot).
• Maintain and evolve the Yocto-based Linux build system within a CI/CD pipeline.
• Package and deploy software images for diverse embedded hardware platforms.
• Create tailored Linux distributions for specific embedded applications.
• Collaborate across firmware, hardware, systems for integration and performance.
• Participate in design reviews and produce technical documentation.
