Job summary

LCS Defense is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to support embedded Linux devices and lab hardware for a classified device development program. This role involves software development, hardware interfaces, distributed services, deployment automation, and debugging in an isolated environment.

Responsibilities include building adapters, defining APIs, deploying services with AWS CDK, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. Collaboration across software, hardware, and test teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Full-Scope Polygraph.
• 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Experience developing software for embedded Linux devices and distributed platforms.
• Proficiency in Python or Rust, plus Bash scripting.
• Experience with interfaces, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/GraphDB/DynamoDB databases.
• Experience deploying services with AWS CDK and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to troubleshoot in isolated, tightly controlled environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software for embedded Linux systems.
• Develop adapters/interfaces exposing hardware through APIs.
• Define service APIs using IDLs and build distributed services.
• Deploy and manage services with AWS CDK and CI/CD tooling.
• Instrument services with CloudWatch and other monitoring tools.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production and lab issues.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and test engineers for device integration.
