Job summary

Swarmbotics AI in Phoenix, AZ is hiring an Embedded Hardware Engineer to design, test, and maintain the electronics powering our unmanned ground vehicles.

You will own the FireAnt main board, including power conversion, motor bus, CAN networking, Ethernet, and sensor I/O, from architecture to bring-up and field support. This role requires hands-on PCB design, firmware integration, and fast iterative validation in a startup environment.

Qualifications

• Experience designing mixed-signal and power circuits for battery-powered systems.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer and multi-layer PCBA layout.
• Firmware in C for STM32 or similar MCUs with FreeRTOS.
• Strong board bring-up and validation per MIL-STD-810H.
• Ability to work with mechanical teams and vendors for integration.

Responsibilities

• Design mixed-signal power circuits for battery-powered robots.
• Develop and bring up the main PCBA with MCU firmware.
• Collaborate with mechanical team for integration and packaging.
• Validate boards with bench testing and MIL-STD-810H scenarios.
• Define CAN interfaces and sensor/payload I/O.
