RTX Collins Aerospace seeks an Embedded Hardware Engineer to design and implement advanced embedded systems for aerospace applications. You will lead architecture, HDL development, and hardware acceleration using SystemVerilog, Verilog, and VHDL, collaborating with software/firmware teams to ensure integrated, high-performance solutions.

You will work onsite in Burnsville, MN or Cedar Rapids, IA, with a focus on robust design, testing, and adherence to industry standards like DO-254.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree with 2+ years experience or advanced degree
• Experience with FPGA development and HDL design using Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog
• Familiarity with FPGA tools such as Xilinx Vivado or Intel Quartus
• Knowledge of RTL design, digital logic, and debugging techniques
• Basic understanding of microcontrollers, embedded systems, or computer architecture

Responsibilities

• Architecture & Design: lead architecture and development of embedded electronic systems for aerospace
• HDL Development: RTL development, integration, and verification using SystemVerilog
• Hardware Acceleration: design custom acceleration engines
• Collaboration: coordinate with software/firmware, system architects, and product teams
• Testing & Validation: develop test plans and use oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
• Documentation & Standards: maintain design documentation and comply with DO-254 and related standards
• Technical Leadership: mentor engineers and participate in design reviews
