Job summary

Castelion in Torrance, CA seeks a Product Security Architect to design and implement cryptographic foundations securing our flight systems. You will own encryption, code signing, secure boot, and key management across embedded platforms, ensuring integrity and confidentiality of mission-critical software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM field.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with applied cryptography or security engineering.
• Experience implementing encryption, authentication, or digital signatures in C/C++/Rust.
• Strong understanding of PKI, TLS, key exchange, hashing, and signatures.
• Experience working in Linux-based or embedded environments.

Responsibilities

• Design secure boot chains and hardware-backed root of trust for embedded flight systems.
• Develop cryptographic protocols and libraries for embedded and distributed systems.
• Own software signing infrastructure and verification workflows for firmware and updates.
• Design secure key generation, storage, rotation, and provisioning across environments.
• Implement and review authenticated and encrypted communications between vehicle and ground systems.
• Conduct threat modeling and security reviews across the software stack.
• Collaborate with embedded, avionics, hardware, and infrastructure teams to embed security in system architecture.
