Job summary

Stored Energy Systems (SENS) in Longmont, CO is seeking an Embedded Firmware Test Engineer to design and develop internal and external test fixtures for industrial battery chargers, inverters and DC back-up power systems.

You will participate in the full life cycle of test fixture development, develop firmware for controllers and sensors, and create production tests to support new products through production launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in development and testing with embedded systems.
• Mastery of C, C++, and scripting (BASH).
• Experience with microcontrollers and board-level communications.
• Experience with test equipment (scope, analyzers).

Responsibilities

• Participate in full life cycle of test fixture development including requirement definition, design, implementation, test, and maintenance.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain test firmware for system controllers, sensors, and accessories for power systems and battery monitors with embedded microcontrollers.
• Develop firmware to help support and execute design verification testing, and system integration to ensure performance and reliability under all operating conditions.
• Specify and design production tests and equipment to support the introduction of new products into production.
