Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a strategic Firmware Engineering Manager to lead embedded firmware development for next-generation products, based out of Raleigh, North Carolina with relocation assistance. You will drive technical excellence in firmware while collaborating with hardware, systems, test/validation, and other functions to deliver high-quality products.

This role supports EcoStruxure and North American market needs for safety, efficiency, and sustainability across data centers,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, Master’s preferred
• 10+ years of embedded firmware development experience
• 5+ years of direct people-management experience leading firmware/embedded software teams in regulated environments
• Proven success delivering complex firmware from concept to production in safety-critical or power electronics applications
• Deep expertise in C/C++ for embedded systems, RTOS (FreeRTOS/ThreadX), bare-metal development, and ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor firmware/embedded software engineers to high performance.
• Define and execute the firmware technology roadmap including architectures and modernization.
• Drive Agile/STAGE-GATE processes for firmware deliverables.
• Lead firmware design reviews, risk assessments, and code quality audits.
• Coach teams to adopt AI development practices for quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with hardware and systems teams to deliver integrated solutions.
