Job summary

Vitesse Systems is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our team developing robotic systems and electromechanical hardware for diverse industries, including aerospace applications. You will work with a multidisciplinary group of engineers to design, test and integrate firmware with hardware.

The role requires hands-on bring-up, board testing, and translation of hardware requirements into software, with occasional travel to support hardware assembly and validation.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline applicable to robotics.
• Experience developing production-grade firmware and embedded software for electromechanical hardware.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Python with good coding, commenting, and documentation practices.
• Proficiency with C/C++, VHDL or Verilog in a Linux environment.
• Experience with hardware bring-up, testing and integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and troubleshoot firmware for electromechanical hardware.
• Hands-on board bring-up, integration and testing with electrical/mechanical teams.
• Translate hardware requirements into firmware and software specifications.
• Support hardware assembly and testing during development.
• Travel as needed to support hardware validation and deployment.
• Contribute to design documentation for test protocols and software requirements.
