Job summary

MaximaTek is seeking a detail-oriented Embedded Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high-performance embedded systems, firmware, and real-time software in Chicago. You will bridge hardware and software teams, ensuring efficient, scalable, and standards-compliant implementations.

The role emphasizes C/C++ for embedded systems, RTOS experience, and strong hardware-software integration. Duties include board bring-up, debugging interfaces, rigorous testing, and collaboration with vendors

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or a related field (Required).
• 0–5 years of embedded software development, firmware engineering, or hardware-software integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, write, test, and maintain low-level C/C++ code for microcontrollers, RTOS, and bare-metal environments.
• Coordinate with hardware engineers to bring up boards and validate PCB designs.
• Conduct system-level validation, static analysis, unit testing, and HIL simulations.
• Optimize performance under resource constraints and monitor power consumption.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain thorough documentation.
• Serve as liaison with vendors and cross-functional teams during reviews.
