Job summary

Skydio, the leading US drone company, is seeking an embedded software engineer to architect and build firmware for our autonomous drones. You will work across STM32 platforms, embedded Linux, and sensors, bridging algorithms with hardware to deliver reliable flight and new accessories.

You will own design and debugging of real-time software, bring-up hardware, and write drivers for cameras and radios. The role demands strong C++, Python, kernel/userspace work, plus hands-on hardware experience

Qualifications

• Experience writing firmware for embedded devices.
• Strong background in real-time embedded software.
• Knowledge of ARM assembly is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and architecture of complex systems.
• Design and implement the embedded software that runs on the vehicle.
• Characterize, integrate, and validate key subsystems (e.g. next-gen camera, radio).
• Bring up and debug new hardware.
• Write interfaces and drivers for sensors and other devices.
