Job summary

Amperesand, based in San Francisco, is seeking an embedded systems engineer to own features for power electronics and firmware integration. This on-site role collaborates with hardware and software teams to deliver reliable, scalable energy infrastructure solutions.

You will optimize real-time firmware, work across disciplines, and contribute to milestones while traveling up to 20% internationally as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics or equivalent.
• Proficiency in C or C++ for embedded systems.
• Understanding of low-level programming and hardware interfacing.
• Knowledge of real-time programming concepts and RTOS.
• Ability to write efficient code under resource constraints.
• Experience with embedded system testing practices.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% including internationally.
• Excellent written and verbal communications in English.

Responsibilities

• Own essential features for power electronics embedded systems, ensuring functional and performance requirements are met.
• Work closely with hardware teams to integrate firmware with new or existing hardware components.
• Work with other talented engineers to solve complex problems, share knowledge, and ensure project milestones are met.
• Stay updated with new technologies, tools, and methodologies in embedded systems
