Aeris Technologies, Inc. in Hayward, CA, is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join the Engineering team. You will write firmware for microcontroller-based IoT devices, study datasheets, and perform board bring-up and debugging across sensor platforms.

The role emphasizes C++, Rust, Linux, and CI/CD workflows, with collaboration across hardware and software teams to deliver reliable, field-ready sensors.

Qualifications

• BS in CS/EE/SE or related field; 5+ years embedded firmware experience.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, C++, and Rust programming.
• Experience with UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, and USB serial protocols.
• Familiarity with OOP concepts and hardware bring-up.
• Experience with CI/CD workflows and cloud storage.
• Startup experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Firmware design and development for microcontroller-based IoT devices.
• Create, maintain, and adhere to coding standards.
• Maintain revision control and team documentation.
• Support electrical bring-up and debugging of prototype hardware.
• Assist manufacturing in automation of configuration and testing.
• Contribute to continuous process improvements.
• Work with AI helpers to improve productivity.
