Job summary

hireneXus is seeking a Firmware Engineer to join our hardware-software integration team in Los Angeles. You will develop and maintain embedded firmware in C, work on both new products and legacy systems, and collaborate across cross-functional teams to deliver reliable software for our hardware platforms.

Responsibilities include debugging complex firmware, designing modular software, and creating documentation and tests.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required in CS or related field.
Strong proficiency in C.
Experience with microcontrollers, embedded hardware, and PC applications.
Understanding of software engineering principles: Abstraction, Decoupling and Cohesion.
Familiarity with design patterns and software structures.
Understanding UML and technical documentation.
Ability to debug complex firmware and software.
Experience refactoring legacy systems while maintaining functionality.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, test, and maintain embedded firmware in C.
Perform continuation engineering on existing products, troubleshoot, and add features.
Investigate and resolve firmware, software, and integration issues.
Develop supporting tools and test applications in Python.
Support manufacturing with test platforms and production software.
Participate in architecture and design discussions to improve maintainability.
Contribute to code reviews and improve engineering practices.
Produce documentation and validation procedures for firmware and tools.
