Job summary

MatX is seeking a fast-moving Embedded Firmware Engineer to develop and extend board management firmware built on open-source stacks. You will own end-to-end platform capabilities for sensors, power and thermal management, and firmware updates, while collaborating with hardware and silicon teams from initial bring-up to production.

You will work with ARM-based microcontrollers in a lab-rich environment, debugging across firmware and hardware boundaries and contributing to robust, scalable

Qualifications

• Strong embedded C development experience on ARM-based microcontrollers.
• Experience with real-time or bare-metal firmware and tight memory budgets.
• Direct experience with embedded firmware in a hyperscaler/datacenter.
• Hands-on familiarity with board-level buses and management interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Develop and extend board management firmware on open-source stacks.
• Maintain embedded firmware on ARM microcontrollers including silicon-partner delivered code.
• Own platform capabilities: sensor monitoring, power/thermal management, firmware updates, hardware health reporting.
• Participate in board bring-up with hardware and system software teams from power-on to production.
• Debug across firmware/hardware boundary using lab equipment and low-level tooling.
