Job summary

Green Key Resources is seeking an experienced Embedded Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering organization responsible for developing next-generation defense technologies.   • 7+ years of engineering experience with 2+ years leading or managing technical teams.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Strong foundation in embedded systems, robotics, autonomous systems, or complex hardware/software products.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams across software, firmware, electronics, and mechanical engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage engineering execution, priorities, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills with engineers, executives, and customers alike.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary team of software, firmware, electrical, and mechanical engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical leadership on system architecture, design reviews, and engineering best practices to ensure scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions.
  • Drive engineering execution from concept through deployment, partnering with product and executive leadership to define priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Oversee the integration and validation of complex hardware and software systems, ensuring products meet rigorous defense, safety, and reliability requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Manufacturing, Operations, and Program Management to align engineering efforts with customer and business objectives.
  • Establish and improve engineering processes, documentation standards, and design review practices that support rapid development while maintaining quality and long-term maintainability.
  • Balance technical risk, execution speed, and product quality to ensure successful program delivery.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous hands-on experience as a Senior or Staff Engineer in embedded software, firmware, robotics, or systems engineering.
  • Experience building and scaling engineering teams within startup or high-growth technology environments.
  • Familiarity integrating sensors, actuators, embedded hardware, control systems, and real-time software into production-ready products.
  • Experience with system verification, validation, and product qualification for mission-critical applications.
