Job summary

Data Based Development Systems, Inc. seeks an enthusiastic Electrical Engineer to design hardware and embedded software for elevator control systems, including HMIs and power electronics.

The role involves testing, quality root-cause analysis, and collaborating with repair shops to feed robust feedback into designs while supporting sourcing, dual sourcing, and obsolescence mitigation for internal and contract manufacturers.

Qualifications

• This position requires embedded hardware, software and firmware design experience.
• Strong knowledge of analog/digital design, power electronics and serial interfaces (RS422/RS485/CAN).
• Experience with SPIs I2C I2S UART CAN USB; PCBA design; microprocessor/DSP boards.
• Proficiency with Altium/Orcad/KiCAD or EAGLE and lab/test equipment.
• Leadership to mentor engineers and drive design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design hardware and software for elevator control systems, including HMIs and power electronics.
• Test and document hardware/software, run lab tests, and support manufacturing drawings.
• Lead root-cause analysis of field failures and drive design improvements.
• Support parts availability, sourcing and dual sourcing efforts for electronics.
• Develop replacement solutions for obsolete components and ensure backwards compatibility.
• Create and update spare parts information for field operations.
