Job description

Candidates should live within driving distance of the following areas: Wichita, KS; Lawton, OK; or Round Rock, TX.

Job Purpose/Summary

Lead the implementation of embedded signal processing pipelines for real-time UAV RF detection and classification. This role will focus on developing, deploying, and optimizing containerized DSP and ML models on edge devices. It is central to the mission of enabling intelligent, low-latency threat detection in contested RF environments.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement real-time RF signal processing algorithms for detection and classification of UAVemissions.
  • Develop embedded DSP code and ML model integration for edge devices using SoC/CPU/GPU platforms.
  • Collaborate with AI/ML teams to containerize detection models and optimize inference at the edge.
  • Tune signal processing pipelines for multi-band detection (433 MHz – 5.8 GHz).
  • Optimize code for performance under constrained memory, power, and compute.
  • Support system-level integration and testing of the embedded detection stack.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years experience in DSP or embedded software development
  • Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and tools like GNU Radio, SoapySDR, or SDR frameworks
  • Experience working with RF signals, SDRs, or time/frequency-domain processing
  • Familiarity with Linux-based embedded systems

Desired

  • Experience deploying containerized models to edge compute platforms (Jetson, Raspberry Pi, etc.)
  • Familiarity with UAV/UAS signaling is a plus
  • Familiarity with anomaly detection or signal classification ML methods
  • Experience with OTA update mechanisms and field reliability
  • Security clearance or ability to obtain one

Working conditions

  • Candidates should live within driving distance of the following areas: Wichita, KS; Lawton, OK; or Round Rock, TX.
  • This position is remote with occasional in-person meetings as needed.
  • This position may occasionally require travel (less than 10% time).
