Summary:

Join Meta’s Reality Labs as a Software Engineer on the Audio team, where you will contribute to pioneering research in AR and VR audio technology. Our team fosters an environment of honesty and consideration, encouraging ownership and embracing ambiguity as we push the boundaries of science and create impactful consumer products.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, optimize, and debug real-time audio features on low-power wearable devices.
• Share software engineering best practices to build a community of researchers and developers.
• Collaborate across disciplines to make architectural trade-offs for rapid software delivery.
• Write clean, readable code, debug complex system problems, and understand project priorities.
• Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies in AR/VR.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded development, Audio DSP, and ML systems.
• 5+ years programming in C++.
• Strong communication skills and experience working across disciplines.
• Industry experience in areas like Tiny ML, noise reduction, hearing aids, or spatial processing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Interest in low-level optimizations for embedded applications.
• Understanding of on-device audio systems and sensor input routing.
• Experience porting research code to optimized C++.
• Familiarity with MATLAB, Max/MSP, Audioweaver, or similar platforms.
• Proven success in transitioning research to product technology.

Compensation & Industry:

$70.67/hour to $208,000/year + bonus, equity, and benefits. Industry: Internet.
