Embedded DevOps Engineer

Ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded systems development, with specific expertise Real-Time Operating System (RTOS). You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of our embedded software, from the foundational build system and continuous integration (CI) pipeline to the optimization of our development environments using Docker.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for embedded software projects using GitHub for Zephyr OS projects.
• Automate build, test, and deployment processes to enhance development efficiency.
• Integrate version control, build tools, test frameworks, and deployment systems into a cohesive pipeline.
• Collaboration and Documentation:Work closely with hardware and software engineering teams to define requirements, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure seamless integration. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining clear and comprehensive documentation for the build system, CI pipeline, and development environment.
• Zephyr OS Development:Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for our products using the Zephyr RTOS. This includes writing and debugging device drivers, implementing application-level logic, and contributing to the overall software architecture.
• Docker Image Optimization:Create and optimize Docker images for our development and build environments. The goal is to provide a consistent and efficient development environment for the entire team, minimizing setup time and ensuring reproducibility.
• System-Level Optimization:Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline performance, addressing bottlenecks or failures promptly.Analyze and optimize system performance, including boot time, memory usage.
  

Skills and Qualifications:

Required:

• Experience with RTOS environments (Zephyr highly preferred but others such as FreeRTOS, ThreadX, etc. are ok).
• Demonstrable experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitHub Actions.
• Strong experience with Docker, including creating and optimizing Dockerfiles and managing containerized environments.
• Proficient with version control systems, especially Git.
• Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation.
• Experience with static analysis and code coverage tools.
  

Preferred:

• Proven experience in embedded software development, with a strong proficiency in C/C++.
• Hands-on experience with the Zephyr RTOS, including its build system (West, CMake) and kernel concepts.
• Knowledge of various microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM Cortex-M, RISC-V).
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and other automated testing frameworks for embedded systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  

Estimated Min Rate: $60.00
Estimated Max Rate: $90.00
