Job summary

Cardinal Scale Mfg. Co. in Webb City, Missouri is seeking an experienced Embedded Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software for multiple hardware platforms on-site.

You will collaborate with hardware engineers and product teams, work with C/C++, RTOS and bare-metal environments, and contribute to robust, safe firmware.

The role requires a BS in a related field and hands-on experience with microcontrollers (ARM Cortex‑M/AVR), I2C/SPI/UART/CAN and Git.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and familiarity with assembly language.
• Experience with RTOS, bare-metal programming, and microcontroller architectures.
• Experience with I2C, SPI, UART, CAN and Git.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded software for microcontrollers and embedded systems.
• Develop firmware in C/C++ for hardware platforms.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software with hardware.
• Debug and troubleshoot using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Embedded Developer to join our engineering team on-site in Webb City, Missouri. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining embedded software for a variety of hardware platforms. You will work closely with hardware engineers, product managers, and QA teams to deliver robust and efficient embedded solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of firmware development principles, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead projects from concept to completion.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and familiarity with assembly language.

• Strong understanding of microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM Cortex-M, AVR).
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, etc.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Two plus years of experience in embedded software development.
