Job summary

Two Sigma is expanding with a mid-to-senior Software Engineer role focused on AI-powered systems. You will work across teams to understand problems and design production-grade agent-based AI solutions that integrate with existing MCP servers, APIs and data pipelines.

The role emphasizes autonomous decision-making, architecture work, and delivering reliable systems. A BS in STEM and 1+ year experience are required, with 5–10 years preferred.

Qualifications

• BS or equivalent in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (MS is a plus).
• 1 year minimum experience; 5–10 years preferred.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: build production systems others rely on.
• Experience with AI tooling and agentic systems in the last 2–3 years.

Responsibilities

• Embed with teams across the firm to understand workflows and identify AI augmentation opportunities.
• Design and build agent-based workflows for knowledge and analysis tasks; include orchestration and human-agent interaction patterns.
• Develop integrations between AI capabilities and firm infrastructure: MCP servers, APIs, data pipelines, internal tooling.
• Build and maintain deployment infrastructure for AI-powered systems: monitoring and observability.
• Contribute to the AI platform definition through production systems across domains.
• Operate with autonomy: scope problems, make architectural decisions, deliver with minimal guidance.
