Job summary

Park Lawn Kansas City Care Center seeks an experienced Embalmer to prepare and embalm deceased individuals for interment or other disposition, ensuring dignity and compassion for families. The role includes oversight of Apprentice Embalmers, strict adherence to legal paperwork, and safe handling of equipment.

Qualified applicants will hold a state Embalmer license (with reciprocity preferred) and may also hold a Funeral Director’s license.

Qualifications

• Fluent English communication skills required.
• Excellent interpersonal and empathetic abilities with grieving families.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and embalm the deceased with dignity and respect.
• Ensure proper paperwork, permits, logs and certificates are completed accurately.
• Instructs and oversees Apprentice Embalmers on cases and paperwork.
• Respond to client families' needs and coordinate transportation as required.
• Maintain preparation room and refrigeration areas and comply with safety guidelines.
